Re: not yet

My wife's 97 AWD Caravan has nearly 203,00 miles on it and other than wear items has been a great van for her. My 95 RHD Jeep Cherokee has 227,000 VERY HARD miles on it - I use it for rural mail delivery - and that's tough on any vehicle. I'd trust that no Japanese/European car would last that long on the roads I deliver on.

So, you would buy a car that would last as long as your nippon car, my 61 Imperial LeBaron is not for sale, even at 503,000 miles and tows a 28 foot trailer at will. No nippon can do that and then be a car in the show, also. j m

I agree with you about defecating in the intake...but will your
Charger be getting 25 MPG when it it has 250K on it? How about your
Neon? It's not the fastest thing on the street, but my Accord does
pretty damn well for what it has under the hood. And with the price of
gas and the shape of the economy right now, what matters to me in a
daily driver is low operating cost, low repair cost, and
longevity...and my Accord has that in spades!

My Dad had a Neon for a while and used it for his 220 highway mile
daily commute...overall it was a good car. But when it got totaled for
him, it had ~140K on it and has absolutely falling apart! Had gone
through 3 head gaskets, & squeaked, rattled, and rode like a beet
wagon. Even though he was sorry to see it go, I was secretly glad that
the other guy put it out of it's misery.

If an American car company made something that would last as long and
as well as my Accord, I would buy it in a heartbeat...but they don't!

As a die hard MOPAR fanatic I disagree that the Japanese and
other Asian car makers are better. You say that the Accord gets 30 mpg.
How about driving a Charger with almost 400 hp that gets 25mpg on the
highway. Cars are an extention of your personality. If you drive a Honda
what does that say, not much. My stepson felt as you do and has an Accord.
My 97 neon twincam whips it every way that matters. I was actually
surprised that it didn't ride better than the neon. Enough ranting I'll be
quiet now. You just don't sh*t where you eat is all I'm saying.
