p.s. pump leak ....again

I finally got the pulley off of my pump only to find that I have the 
wrong seal kit.  It's the seal around the shaft that's leaking.  The 
shaft seal contained in the kit I bought looks to be the correct o.d. 
but the i.d. is too large.  The kit I bought is p/n 2279998.  It had the 
correct gasket to seal aroung the two bolts that thread through the back 
of the reservoir so it must just be a difference between years.  I have 
no idea if the pump is correct to the year of the car or the year of the 
engine.  So ??????  The p/n on the seal is 1734913.  And it has the old 
CDDP logo on it also.  I guess I'll call the one sympathetic parts guy 
in our area on monday and see if he can come up w/ something for me.
