Re: 4 speed firewall reinforcements

Neal,
The over center spring brings additional pressure to help you depress the pedal when using a three finger clutch, you do remove it when using a Centerforce diaphragm style clutch. Using a Borg and Beck style aftermarket clutch with increased holding pressure puts additional stress on the complete linkage, I tore a hole in my fire wall in a 64 Savoy before going to the diaphragm style. I cut the over center spring out and no problems. I had lots of calls to Wayne before I figured this all out.

WHEN I TALKEd to brewers a few weeks ago about ordering an over center
spring for my pedal assembly,( the spring was missing when i bought
the pedals) , wayne brewer told me with a centeforce clutch i
wouldnt need it. I didnt pursue it any further, i took his word for
it and didnt order it. dont quite understand why though.
