Someone set me straight if I am wrong---Dwell is the number of degrees that 
the dist. shaft turns while the points are closed.. More gap would open the 
points sooner and close the gap later- therefor less degrees of shaft 
rotation while the points are closed?...................MO.....sw   iowa
