Re: Water pump pully

Where can I find a smaller pully for my 383 pump/fan?
I want to try it. Seems logical

Expense of a pulley? The ones I use were1/2 inch smaller. We wont lock
horns. You can do what you want. What i do works though and everytime.. Last
one I fixed was Bill Parsons (former carlisle winner) black 64 Dodge. It
went from undrivable in traffic n hot days to no trouble at all in about 10
minutes and for about $2 and some paint and elbow grease.
Why does it work? because it gets the water pump and fan speed up above the
level of trouble to what it would be in moving traffic. Sometimes on a hot
motor (as in modified) idle water pump speed in gear is just not enough to
produce enuf flow through the rad and the fan is not making enuf wind. A
small reduction in WP pulley size makes a signfincant increase in WP speed
which is also fan speed . However Ollie, if your'e happy and your problem is
solved then i am happy. I am only trying to help.
