The people that want to destroy all automobiles prior to 1976 have no
sense of history or have no idea where our energy dollars are going, or
where energy comes from...

we spend far more to heat and cool our houses than running automobiles,
yet the vast majority this "Clean" electricity we should be using comes
from oil and coal...

should we rip down every house built prior to 1976? bet more than a few
people would have problems ripping down houses and buildings on the
National registry of historic places, even though they are "gas
Guzzlers"

sorry about getting on my soap box ;)

There was a story yesterday on NPR's show "All Things Considered" about
the 25 year cutoff in the cash for clunkers program. The collector car
hobbyists were credited with getting this inserted into the bill. So to

all of us who took the time to contact our representatives, it worked.
In the story they were lamenting the fact that it leaves many cars on
the road (nearly 5 million according to the reporter)without catalytic
converters, gas guzzlers, etc. As a regular listener of NPR I took the
time to send an email and explain that many of these cars are driven
very little and that a small percentage of them are used as daily
driver. I also pointed out that we need to have some around as parts
cars to keep our collectibles in top condition.
Here is a link to the story if anyone cares to listen or read the
transcript:
