Talk to Imperial Services, http://www.imperialservices.net/about.htm    they
I believe can convert your old double cable shifter over to a single cable &
with a spring change in the valve body will work with your new 727.  They
converted a push button shifter over to work with a newer 727 for my 63 Fury
  They do good work but are slow so give them a lot of lead time before your
conversion.  Don't wait till your ready to do the project or you will be
waiting to compleat it!

I will be installing a 1971 big block 727 trans in my 1965 Coronet 500,, the
car was a factory 318 V8 with a floor shift counsel auto. Trans. that i wish
to keep using. Will there be any problems with the change over or are there
any changes that i must do pryer. Please fill me in on anything i should
beware of or should buy.
