Sounds like '68 '69 B body manifolds are the way to go. This thing has been so much fun, it should be illegal. Now it's time to be on the freeways more. It's got so much torque that choking it back a bit may even help performance. They're running low 11's through full exhaust - it might not e as bad as you think. Besides, you're not trying to kill a set of clocks o although it won't run as well as if you had headers, it'll still make lenty of power. Not sure what it costs or where to have it done, but it ight just be the ticket. IMHO 6000 RPM is probably not going to be productive - we did a good eal of header testing and we found that the 1 5/8" Schumacher tri-Y headers ade better power down low than 2" headers, but above 5800 rpm the power ropped off so fast that it would unload the suspension on the 1-2 shift (at 51ci). It will be less dramatic at less CI and lower compressions. I'm uessing manifolds will be a little worse. You might want to tune your ackage to make power down low where the manifolds won't restrict you so uch. Which ones fit our cars the best? There seem to be quite a few different ones. I know that going from my headers to manifolds is going to cost some power on my stroker, but "street is neat" is the new ame of the game for me.
