Petty Stock Car Update

Hello All,

Been awhile since I have done any posting at our site but I have been busy. MS Cruiser, my 65 Satellite, the wife and myself, have been on the Red Neck Power Tour, covering 600 miles in Mississippi, Cruising the Coast, and local car shows, which have been every weekend now it is a bit cooler. Been having a blast with our Mopar.

With all this the Petty Stock Project has taken a back burner but the pot has been on a slow boil. Got the slant six mounted in. Fabricating engine mounts was not really a problem. Had to cut off the existing V-8 mounts and with a few modifications the six fell right in. Transmission mount required a bit of mod too.

Had a few hurdles to jump on the radiator. The bottom hose was on the wrong side but with some southern boy engineering this was nothing to over come. Please don't laugh at my plumbing job with 1 ¼" pipe fittings but they were "in stock" Have not been able to get a top radiator hose, a flex hose bends to tight so may require more pipe fittings. My buddy has a barn full! Transmission lines out of 3/8 hose and barb fittings, done, fuel line done.

I have most of the wiring completed. All that is lacking is the voltage regulator/alternator, starter solenoid, and electronic box.

I have a drive shaft out of a Duster that needs to go to the drive train shop to be lengthened.

Next major project is the accelerator pedal and throttle cable. The original V-8 cable is to short and with the floor mods I need a pedal that is mounted on the rod rather than the floor. Heading to my local Pull-A-Part, Thursday, know I will come home with enough stuff to get this rigged.

Hoping to drive to my local cruise-in Dec. 5.

I have been keeping up with everyone else projects and postings. Keep the pics coming....love'em.
