throttle pressure




I finally completed the swap from my race 727 to a stock '65 727 in my '65. I used the downshift (throttle pressure) rod from the original 1965 273/904 setup. Just had to tweak the bends a bit because of the 1970 six pack setup being taller than the 273 2bbl. Adjusted everything per the service manual to basically where the throttle starts moving the transmission rod as soon as the throttle starts moving open. My question is: at full throttle, there is still room for the transmission rod to move further before it stops. Is this the norm? I never have figured why the trans rod is slotted at the carb attachment point.
