That may not be totally true, depending on the cam lift. When I built the 426 wedge for my 64 Polara 3 years ago I installed a 513" lift Lunati cam. I had to install adjustable rockers, so I used stock cast adjustables. They hit the baffles in the steel valve covers and rattled terribly. I took them off and there were little dents in the baffles where they had been hit. I used a rounded hammer and dinged them a little further to fix the issue. Now, I have M/T covers on there's no problem.
