Re: 273 Rebuild / moth balls in gas

Herb
You are a man after my heart.
I was born in 1944 and lived the era that is being discussed, so I do know what I a talking about.
Senility hasn't hit me yet so my mind is still clear and I still like to go fast.
You won't find me in the slow lane unless I have one of my grand children riding along.
Here is an explanation that I hope every one understands.
The old time racers had to be secretive about their mixtures because using moth balls was illegal because it "did" give those racers an advantage.
The guys that got caught dropped the balls straight into the tank and all the inspectors had to do was rock the car and they heard the balls rolling around.
The secret was to mix off site and bring the gas in on the tow vehicle because they never got inspected.
Luckily I purchased the real lead additive when unleaded was introduced and have enough to last my 65 for my life time.
What my kids do with it won't matter much when I'm gone.
