Trusted vendors

I consider myself so fortunate to have Pat Blais close by here in Puget Sound. Pat has been rebuilding Torqueflites for over 35 years, just rebuilt one for me.  I wanted to stay with the original ball & trunnion look in my  64 Sport Fury, 383, so Pat used something like a 65 Imperial or some such that allowed him to use upgrades that stopped issues with the 64 version, and still retain the stock look of the ball & trunnion. He was up in my area, so brought me a tranny, spent 2 1/2 hours educating me on TFs, encouraging me to take one apart myself (gulp!).

He said something very poignant during our conversation that Steve Charette touched on. Pat said we have to realize that most of the people working on and selling parts/services for our old cars were not even born when the cars were built, or even when they went out of favor. Having people like Pat Blais and Jeff Carter (J C Auto in Lynwood, WA) still available to us is a real blessing. They are both, to my knowledge, quite busy and I hope to make sure I do my part keeping them busy. Same with Steve Charette, who turned me on to Schumacher headers, which I've purchased. All these sources are listed on our forum vendors page. Great resource.

Finally, this forum is so special. Thanks to everyone who pitches in. I save all the messages, so my own son can data mine the material if he chooses, once I'm gone. Just about every question someone could ask about our cars is already of file here.

Okay, I'm done....

Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person. I.e., send parts/car transactions and negotiations as well as other personal messages only to the intended recipient, not to the Clubhouse public address. This practice will protect your privacy, reduce the total volume of mail and fine tune the content signal to Mopar topic. Thanks!
