64 plymouth fury 392 hemi, 440/426 maxie clone conversion

Hi all,
In a couple years i am planning on either putting a 440 426 maxie clone or a 392 hemi. Whats the pro and cons for doing this, it has a 318 poly now. Can i still use the poly tranny of get a differnt one? I would like to still keep the p buttens.
