I believe the cast crank 340 were only "eccentric balanced" on the front of the crank (balancer)....the torque converters and flywheels were neutral like the steel crank 340s and all 318s. Yes, 360s were counterbalanced at both ends.

They are the same for big and small block and thus interchangeable. All smallblocks except 360's and cast crank 340's are neutral balance. Most bigblocks are neutral balance with the exception of '71-up 383's, all 400's(except stick cars that have steel cranks) and '73-up 440's(again, except stick cars) that all use cast cranks.Mark----- Original Message ----- From: "Jeff Adams" <ledman_70@xxxxxxxxxxx>To: 1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, July 21, 2010 6:38:22 PM Subject: Flywheel I think I asked this already (old fart's disease), but does anyone have a 10.5" stick shift bigblock flywheel they'd like to sell? Are big and small block flywheels interchangeable, and how are the 2 balanced?
