I guarantee mine was getting blazing hot. I was gonna set it on fire to cool it down :-) It would start sputting and galloping and then just plain die. No doubt about it. It's not all just the cooling system either. A big part of the issue is the tune. If it's a tad too lean it really hates it! Mine has not been running good in this heat still so today I set it back to what I had last summer just for the heck of it. It's several stages leaner. I also balanced the carbs and thought it would be fine. Then I got about 30 feet down the street and it was spitting and complaining. Not overheating though. So I'll make some more changes and see how that goes. Trial and error with an emphasis on the error.
