 You won't break the axles.
The problem was shearing the key in the hub.
But I doubt you'd ever do that either.

Does anyone have race experience with the 8.75 tapered axle diff ?
The car will have 9" slicks 727 and 3.55s or 4.10s

i.e.How much hp can they withstand in a 4000 lb car and for how long ?
If they break ,where will they break ?

I know the easy answer is to change to the complete 65 and up diff .

The advantage to the 1963 rear end is they are only an inch wider then an a body 8.75
