Just a double check on your throttle butterflys. If they are not fully seated in the venturies, that could give these symptoms. The butterflys will work freely and is kinda hard to see if they are fully closed . Did you have the butterfly disc's loose from the shaft in dis-assembly? ..........................MO

Linkage works right and the butterflies operate freely.
This car is driving me nuts.
It might come up for sale soon if I don't get these bugs worked out.
I have so many hours invested. not to mention the money.
My wife feels like a widow.

Bill, not that I know what’s wrong, but might the
throttle (butterflies) be catching or jamming somewhere
around intake manifold opening or the carb-to-intake gasket
itself? Or does the linkage work as it should but still has
the fast run-a-way at start-up?
Just my half penny thought.
