Bill,

The build date will be on the transmission's left side, along the bottom 
of the case, just above the tranny's oil pan. It's a stamped into the 
side, XXXXXXXX  XXXX  XXXX.

The second 4-digit number will tell the date. Chrysler used a 10,000 day 
calender starting July 29, 1961 as 0001. I have a chart for the calender 
if you can get the number.
