Re: engine bay paint question



They are black Semi gloss. they have always been black never body color. the only way they are body color is because most people are to lazy to remove them when they paint the engine compartment. Just like the shock hardware and upper a arm bolts arent body color either. The master cylinder reinforcement plate is also black.

My unmolested 65 Plymouth are black, but looks like a touch of overspray of bodycolor is on them. The car has 57k on it, so its never been messed with as far as paint goes.

Mine are body color, but, it would make sense they would be black because I would bet they were installed after painting and engine, Tranny & K frame were installed.  I'm sure they did not depend on an employee to color match panels.

oh great, conflicting opinions. I've see it both ways in car show
pics. The ones that came out are black , but I dont know if they are
original.
   I want to say on my 67 Coronet they were black as well
