Here's some info I found for you on the web on a chat line.

The 915's have standard 2.08 and 1.74 valves. Let's see my 440 that had the 915 closed chamber heads. Hope this helps.

The 516 heads are basically identical to the 915's except they have the 1.60 exhaust valves. You can make them into 915s by putting in the 1.74's. This fits into the head no problem, just put in the right size exhaust valve seat and you're ready to rock. I had to have the exhaust valves and seats replaced on my 383 because it had been run on unleaded for quite some time; upgrading to the 1.74's cost me nothing at that point because valves and seats had to be replaced anyway.

915'2 were the first High Performance BB heads. They have better ports than the 516, some 915's that came on non performance cars did have the smaller exhaust valves, but they can easily handle the 1.181 valve. 915's were basically a one year item for 1967, in 1968 heads were changed to 906 open chamber to meet emmissions. The 516 heads were used on all big blocks prior to 67 except for the max engines

Are all of those head castings closed chamber?  What about the 915
casting?

I got a spare block thrown in with a deal on a Cuda drag car that I purchased, the guy said it was 413 with a 426 wedge crank. I took it home and put it in the corner of the shop, and forgot about it. This weekend I started tracking the numbers on the block and looking for some info. The numbers are 1852029-2 with a AAQA 3R. From what I find they say this is a Max wedge block. It has the valve reliefs too. Does anyone know about these motors and what they are worth? Is it worth a decent build?

If it has the right numbers and it is in good shape and the price is right, go for it. A 413 can be bored .060 over but only go a max of .040 overbore on a 440 engine. Not enough meat on them bones to overbore a 440 to .060 over. Just asking for trouble. I know this wasn't part of your question but no harm in maybe learning something you didn't already know.

My cousin went to Ecology Wrecking in Wilmington, CA which is near the old Lion's Dragstrip. He happened to open the hood on a '63 Chevy pick-up and discovered what he says is a 413 Mopar motor and the pb trans was also installed. I guess it's complete. He also found a 1ton Dodge Van with either a 383 or 440. He said he couldn't get to the numbers on it.

I was wondering if that 413 might have been a Max Wedge? How can he tell easily? Are the valve covers different? I think Dodger said they were. How about ID numbers? He is considering removing the heads if that's the case. Personally I think he should probably take the whole thing? What is the concensus with the rest of you?
