Re: LeRoars current status

I'm way too deep in the newest poly build to divert to the 440's. Maybe someday.

I don't think so, but from what I remember, the crankshafts and the oil pans
still interchange between the two blocks.  I just read this not too long ago
when someone wanted to build a poly 318.

Its the headbolts being in a different pattern on the two blocks which prevents
you from using the finest possible modern heads ported to the max with a wild
cam and high compression and a great induction system that makes a giant HP Poly
hard to do.  Get a 340 or a 360 block from a car or truck of most any year and
build that up.

Some guys stuck with the Poly and have made suprising HP with their ingenuity
more than anything.  They just matched all the parts together and wind up with
one sweet 318 and they have come up with a way to stroke those old engines too.

It shouldn't take too much research on the web to find some info on the Poly.
You just have to search it 12 different ways or you can get lucky quick.

My day had a few cars with the 318 poly.  They were hard to kill.

I don't think Hughes makes poly 318 parts, do they?

Thanks,
