7, Before the Dodge Brothers started their own firm, they worked for
the National Cycle and Automobile Company of Hamilton, Ontario, which
is where they met Frederick J. Haynes who they would later hire as
their right hand man.  After they returned to Detroit the two began a
machine shop and made engines and transmissons for such firms as
Oldsmobile and Ford.  But they never worked for Ford although they did
own a 10% share of the Ford Motor Company.
