Re: 413 Motor

kinda hard to tell if it is a recent rebuild unless the man will let you pull the heads and look at the cylinders in it you could pull the plugs and look in there with a lighted scope if you have one and the 413 will bolt right in where your 361 is with no changes other than minor exhaust work if you are running  a stock setup same manifolds just exhaust is a little different spaced between the B and RB propably has the same 516 heads on the motor as your 361 if it is indeed a recent rebuilt 413 i would say 600 is a good price

Subject: 413 Motor

Somebody on Craigslist has a 1965 413 Mopar for sale. This is the story that goes with it  "It was rebuilt and only run for a thousand miles before the truck got wrecked. Casting #2468030-3 rl. This is a killer engine. $600 may seem like a lot, but if you need mopar big block power, this is the one you need. I have the intake with it ,but it needs the valley pan."

On the motor is say A413...1965 413,  8 28 2  built Aug 28th, 2nd motor built that day, ( I think)

How can I check out this motor if I wanted it for my car?  It doesn't look like it was only run a few thousand miles after a rebuild to me, but I'm not sure how to tell.  Will it fit in my car?  I know a 413 was an option for my car, but I'm not sure about a 1965 motor.  I've got a 361 in it now.
