I think the most benefit without changing your current combo is the dyno day and carb tuning. That can pick up 2 tenths easily unless you're already very close to dialed in.
What are you running for tires? A shorter tire will give you more effective gear ratio(like 4:30's) with less work than changing gears.
What rear springs? A lot of guys I know have gone to Cal-Tracs and seen dramatic 60-foot drops.
What kind of ignition system?

Low gear set in the tranny.  That sounds interesting.

Where are you at on compression right now? and what pistons are you running,,,,,, if they are flat tops you might get by with just installing a set of closed chamber heads,,,,,,,, another thought is install a low gear set in tranny so as to keep the 4.10s for highway,,,,,
