Re: Drag Racing - Not pulling at top of gear

I would recommend Firecore 50 wires, reasonably priced and very good stuff, you can find their ad on Moparts

To respond to a number of questions:

The fuel pump is a Carter 4594 7psi 72gph street/strip unit that pumps through a
3/8" fuel line through the mechanical pump. The pump is mounted in the rear axle
well with the inlet located at about the top of the stock fuel tank.

The tank was definitely below 1/2 tank - somewhere  between 1/4 and 1/3
full.  Sounds like I need to add more but even if it does add more weight to
this heavy car.

Power for the pump is through a 12 & 14 gage wire run directly from the battery
to the pump through a relay. The battery is on a Battery Tender when in the
garage.  Given six runs the first outing  and three runs the second outing, I
don't think power supply is an issue. The car has a factory configuration of an
alternator running off the water pump and crank.

The cam springs have maybe six trips to the strip and maybe 25 runs on them,
keeping under 6000 rpm.  It might be ignorance on my part but that does not seem
to be many runs on a set of springs.

I will replace the plugs, check the wires for resistance and damage and replace
the ignition module (unless someone can tell be how to test it). I do intend to
run a compression and leakdown test.

The dyno runs, peak HP was 359 at 5500, 350 at 5800, 335 at 6000 and 323 at
6300.

Any other thoughts/suggestions?
