Re: Radiator Question

To add my 2c, the Griffin on my 63 Fury with a 7.0L Gen 3 Hemi pushing HP, in the same ballpark, has worked flawlessly.   We have been over 100 degrees daily and it runs right were it should.  That's with the tranny cooling through it also.  Plus's it has a stock apperance.

Jim,

How is the Griffin working out; does it meet your cooling needs and did you find the Griffin people technically savvy/forthright/helpful?

In case any of you fellas wanted an update, I ended up taking Gary's suggestion and called Griffin and asked them to custom make me an "ExtremeCool" version (1.5" tubing) for my '64 Fury.  Cost me a few bucks more than the MaxCool but I figure I don't need to worry about it now.  Looks real nice, too.

Thanks, Gary!

Hey fellas (and ladies),

Been a while since I've posted but I'm finally in a place to resume
the Fury project.  Next up is getting the cooling system ready for the
stroker.  I was going to go with a Griffin after several thumbs up,
most notably from Tom Hecht (if you are still around, Tom, then hey
there).

Anyway, I looked into purchasing a Griffin and was told by Douggie
Houser parts guy (sorry to you younger lads) a few things that I would
like validated by the experts (you guys):

- Correct Griffin part number for my '64 Fury is a Griffin MaxCool
5-560HF-FXX which is 18' x 22" (?)
- This model is good to 600HP (which is a little scary given my plans
for the stroker should take me near 650)

Can anyone verify the above part number, and does anyone have
experience with the HP claim?

How about brackets and fitment suggestions?

An alternative to Griffin?  (I will look into BeCool but my experience
is BeCool = BigBucks)

Thank you in advance and hope all is well.

Jim
