Getting ready to install the distributor. Gotta get it up on the
timeing mark at TDC on the compression stroke..easy....NOT!!!!.
it is a 1978 cast crank 440 The balancer has 4 timeing marks, 90
degrees apart. One has a little o beside it. Nothing on the other
three marks Logical that the mark with the o woulds be TDC With
turning the crank through all 4 cycles and watching the valves. It
would just not come in right. Had me doubting I got the timeing
chain gears correct. So on a whim, I tried dialing it in on a
different mark and then it all came together. WTF ??? The internet
says that only on 78-79 engines had the 4 marks on the balancer. Only
one had the mark a little longer than the others. I went back and
looked and yup, it was on the longer mark. So what does the little o
mean beside one of the marks??? no explanation..................MO
