I am a /6 man myself. I make the statement it is the most durable gasoline engine of its day and class. Many a tug and forklift had them.
Sure are a conversation starter at a car show too.

they were offered from the factory, but I think a factory fuel
injected slant six would be cool. Possibly from a pickup? What was the
last year for a slant six?  I am just sure that the factory offered
the A833 overdrive 4 speed behind a / six. Use a 4:10 rear gear and
have a snappy six with an easy cruise speed of 65-70 MPH. Those OD 4
speeds are a lot cheaper than a regular one.  Split manifold duals
would really sound era correct for a 50's street rod ..... Way
