RE: windscreen washer

All this talk about foot operated washer pumps reminds me of a story involving, you guessed it, me.  About 20 years ago I bought my first Dart, a 69 4dr slant six.  Well it sat for about a year and a half before I drove it.  Brought it back to where I had moved from, a hour and a bit away.  My buddy, who's the biggest Mopar guy I know, wanted to see it.  So he comes over and I say to him, "Weirdest thing, it's got wipers but no washers."  He pops the hood and says "Your fluid reservoir is right here and half full."  I said "How do you get it to squirt on the windshield?"  "It's foot operated, you dumbass."  "Oh," I said.  And yes, I felt really dumb.  But my excuse is still "this is the fist time I've across something like this."  Oh to be young and no so experienced.

my 64 polara came with a bag which was gone when I got the car,I have the push button 2 speed wipers,I picked a nice used mopar washer tank and pump at the swap. It looks and works great. all I did was disconnect the  old pump and plug the wires to the new pump, mounted on inner fender where the bag mount was. I think I had to drill one hole for the tank.

The next-to-top-of line 1962 Fury had a foot-operated washer pump. Sounds like the foot version was standard and the electric a pay-for option?
