Ok sorry to wade in late in the game ,but, I have a 62 newport and have totally redone the entire brake system and it sucks giant dog terds!!! One minute is stops on a dime the next you best have both hands on the wheel and be ready for anything yet you can lock them up but first it pulls the the left then the right and it’s a really religious experience every time you hit the brakes. ( you are bound to same something some times the kids have to cover their ears) So from a tight fisted skin flints perspective money wise , what can I do to convert to disc? Cheaply, again low cost is of prime importance. I have no trouble using junk yard parts to pull this off yes id use new calipers and rotors and bearings but what do I use as the donor ????? jason -----Original Message----- From: 1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Gary H. It's a pretty rare car nowadays. The "total contact brakes' (TCB) seem to have one thing in common with a 1962 b-body Dodge -- people either like them or don't like them. :) Did you get a chance to look at the video http://youtu.be/LbLIIdgQhjc link? The narrator is enthusiastic about those TCB brakes. Thanks, Gary H. > -------Original Message------- > From: Eric > A 62 Chrysler still has the Total-Contact Brakes...that I know.
