Elite Veteran Posts: 1053 Location: Ny | We're on the move again, so if you're in the area we'll be neighbors. We'll be lugging the '55 Desoto with us. Since this will be a permanent move (buying a house/putting down roots), we'll finally be able to dig into the car and get some progress made. Can't wait to hit the shows in the area this year.

Elite Veteran Posts: 1053 Location: Ny | That's great to hear. My husband and I are NDC members, so it will be nice to have a local chapter to be in touch with. We are moving to York, Pa, which isn't far from Md.

Expert Posts: 3155 Location: NY & VT | Good luck with the move! You'll be near Tom Kenney, my old next door neighbor, who's very active with NDC (see his Xmas post in this here MD group forum) and lives in Hampstad MD about 40 min SW of York, right below Hanover PA. He's a nice guy and had a '55 DeSoto before he got his present orange '60. His Dads silver '60 was the first DeS I ever rode in, around 1962.

Elite Veteran Posts: 1053 Location: Ny | I'm very familiar with where Hampstead is. I used to run the Sears Auto in Hanover for a few years. I've been in touch with the MD NDC chapter. There is one for PA/NJ which I am assuming is based more toward Philadelphia area. It will be great to have active groups nearby. We have felt pretty isolated here in NY. lol We'll be closing on our house at the end of March (projected date is the 29th. A Good Friday for sure!). Can't wait! Expert Posts: 1231 Location: York County, PA | Jessica, When you are settled in, stop by and see us on Glatfelter Station Road off of 616 south of York New Salem. You can't miss us, just look for the mail truck. Don't forget the car cruise the fourth Friday night every month down at the Shrewsberry Markets, too!!

Elite Veteran Posts: 1053 Location: Ny | Heading down to Pa/Md for the weekend for our home inspection. Our close date has been pushed back to Mid-April now. Hopefully winter will finally give up and allow Spring to settle in by then.

Expert Posts: 3155 Location: NY & VT | Wow - I can remember buying tires at Sears Auto in N Hanover Mall around 1990-91-ish - we lived mostly in Westminster/Taneytown MD, and shopped in Hanover a lot then, too, but for a few years we had a small farm just N of Hanover, E of Abbottsown, in Paradise Township, and just a few miles W of York. The York-Hanover area is a nice one, but it sure has grown since we left. Good luck with the move & new house! It'll be a bit warmer than Watertown! Edited by firedome 2013-03-26 11:30 AM

Elite Veteran Posts: 1053 Location: Ny | We've had some nice weather here in the North Country, so I can't complain. Yes, that area has really grown and changed. I lived/worked in the Hanover area from around 2003 to 2007. I couldn't believe the cost of housing in the Hanover area, either! Pricey! We lucked out and found a fabulous house, though. Stone facade, 4 car garage, and owned by the same family since they built it in 1938. We're closing on it next week. I can't wait to get the Desoto in her new home so we can get started on her. She's been put off for far too long.

Elite Veteran Posts: 1053 Location: Ny | Thanks Steve. I hope so too! Ps. The garage at our new home isn't as "nice" as this one, but has a few extra bays.
