Hope this helps you out.

Expert Posts: 1530 Location: ZH, Switzerland | Hi Raffaele As far as I remember from the service manual from my '56 New Yorker (the Beast), or a service bulletin (087 in this case), if there is too much oil in the steering gear it starts leakting through the vent hole. From the pictures... your steering gear looks quite similar to mine (coaxial power steering gear). At my steering gear there is a filler screw at the top of the case near the upper bearing.
Good luck! Dieter Edited by di_ch_NY56 2015-11-29 8:44 AM (087 - page 17 seepage.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 087 - page 17 seepage.jpg (34KB - 278 downloads)

Expert Posts: 1488 Location: New Castle PA | The lower section of the power steering unit is under pressure, and the upper section with the hole is not. If there's leakage from that hole, fluid under pressure is getting past a seal within the unit. I've had mine rebuilt (I had the same problem) but didn't do it myself, so I don't know where to obtain the seals. Power Brake Exchange in Pittsburgh PA did mine.

Expert Posts: 1488 Location: New Castle PA | Here's the place that rebuilt mine: http://www.powerbrakex-change.com/ The only "complaint" I have is that they were ready to paint it black "which is what they usually do", until I told them NOT TO--it SHOULD NOT BE PAINTED. I don't know if they will sell a"kit".

Elite Veteran Posts: 1141 Location: Blackpool, United Kingdom. | Hi raffaele , you're car looks to have had manual windows in originally, you will have to remove the blanks where the original winder handles came through as that's where you window switches will be , also the front doors and pillars will need drilling for the wiring to go through, you will see a indentation in the steel where the holes are located, Also I see you have left the grill in silver , if it was a replacement bumper as in the picture with the guards, yours may have been Gold , I know there are a few Adventurer's with silver , but I think the Gold does make the front stand out more , Looking good anyway, Just looking at the underhood shots , I noticed that the plates from the inner fenders to firewall are missing? Paul.
