Veteran Posts: 256 Location: Chicago | Great photos! I have never seen an event in the US with that much forward look stuff, going back to the 1980s. The '59 looks familiar, I think Mike B. and I drilled spot welds out on it when we were over there a long time ago.

Elite Veteran Posts: 673 Location: Malung, SWEDEN | Thanks guys! Top privilege is still to take a ride in wifeys Fireflite.
ToM and I have had the pleasure to meet outside the cyberworld. (I am the frozen man in the hat ...) Traffic jam in Rättvik! Heavy skies, top up! In the background, at the roundabout, you can see the midsummer pole, typically Sweden and Dalarna. Still no rain-top down! Now we are just waiting to see Tom's 58 in Dalarna!

Elite Veteran Posts: 673 Location: Malung, SWEDEN | Time has gone by too fast again! Summer has become autumn and soon the snow is here again! Olli Manninen also showed his amazing Dodge on the show which of course was awarded the first prize! I'll let the pictures speak!
Finland's capital, Helsinki can be reached most easily by ferry for us Swedes! The city is a exciting tourist destination that breathe history from Finlands past! Not far from the port, we found our friends Olli & Erjas garage! Projects are everywhere, and upstairs we found this Challenger Here is Frid´s ´59 Imperial who has recently moved to Helsinki! Ollis & Erjas Dodge was already in place in Lahti and these photos are taken at the carshow! The resto is amazing! The color combo is stunning! First class! Spectacular styling! More styling! Thanks to Olli & Erja for good company and to a great Forward Look Dodge! More pictures coming soon! Edited by Chrys 68 2016-10-10 6:46 AM

Elite Veteran Posts: 673 Location: Malung, SWEDEN | More pictures from Lahti, Finland. Several very shiny creations to watch! The Kryptonite became as usual the most photographed creation... It attracts attention everywhere it goes! Mr. Winfield looking at the Kryptonite! The Girls! The Celebs... The Art. The Forward Look! The Imperial belongs to Henrik Björklund who has driven both Lincoln Highway and Route 66 with the car. Impressive ride The Finnish Mopar accosiation had of course a nice lineup. Wow! There was also plenty of pin-ups. Of both sexes... That required a proper girl photo! back in business! Here we have Gene with Finland's best car builders, Anna-Stina & Tomi Kangas and Timo Hersti. Great guys!
Tomi did sheet metal work all weekend with help from Gene. Art created by Anna-Stina! Photos from top chop coming soon... Edited by Chrys 68 2016-10-10 11:13 AM

Elite Veteran Posts: 673 Location: Malung, SWEDEN | OK folks, back to the show! Here is the starting material for the customization, a good old´57 free from rust, Zacke measure out where the cut is to be placed. Gene, who has done this so many times before, decides to remove 2.5 ". Gene in action with the saw, wonderful picture of a master at work! Here goes the roof! Fridberg is lifting. Gene recovers, while he tell me stories from the past. Very interesting. Zacke and Fridberg preparing for the reset, note the cut away piece on the hood. Roof is lifted into position! Gene is satisfied with the work so far and fixes the roof with welding tongs. Anna-Stina kidding Fridberg, showpaint and sheetmetal get together! Zacke and Gene having fun rebuilding the place for the new back window. Two carguys at work! The glass will be custom made, the manufacturer is in Finland. A small adjustment and the rear window will be perfect Fridberg says. Gene makes a test drive! As can be seen the look has improved with the 2.5" drop. Fridberg and Mr. Winfield in the car, pleased with the day's fun. Enjoy!

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9908 Location: Lower Mainland BC | I just discovered this thread last night and found it to be wonderful due to all the photos. Today the photos all seem to be gone?? Anything to do with that "cpp" spammer that attacked last night? I hope not. I hope the photos all come back. EDIT: Never mind. Right after I made the first version of this post, the photos reappeared like magic. Yay! Edited by 56D500boy 2016-11-12 10:29 AM

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9908 Location: Lower Mainland BC | As we all go through this thread and marvel at all the wonderful FL cars in Sweden, please remember that it is even more remarkable because of the relatively low populations in Scandinavia: • Sweden 9.593 million ? • Finland 5.439 million ? • Norway 5.084 million But you also might want to remember that it gets very dark during the winters there - all the better to have a well lit, warm shop to hang out and work on car projects during those long winter nights. Then in the summer they have incredible amounts of sunlight to play in.
