Re: IML: 1962 imperial

I've been looking for a solid 62 2-door for some time now. I've found the usual rust problems with the body (quarter panels and rockers) but I'm especially careful about the frame and trunk, both prone to severe rot if they've been kept outside (at least from what I've seen). I bought my first 62 with the proverbial rose-colored glasses on (it's a sexy-looking thing) but found the frame had deteriorated badly. The trunk, which supports the gas tank, was ready to drop out. I've seen a couple with similar problems. I'm sure being in the northeast isn't helping.

Curious - where's the one you're looking at? If I've seen it, I'd be glad to share. Don't worry - I wouldn't think of competing with you. Best of luck
