RE: IML: Exhaust preferences

John,
Like I told Teresa you can get a muffler from Flowmasters that have a
different sound level. When I had them put on my '73, I didn't like how loud
the exhaust sound was. Then I went back to have the resonators put on, and
now I love the low exhaust sound, and the difference in power. Keep in mind
the '73 was only rated 215 horsepower (if my memory serves me right), and
the additional horsepower is more then welcomed.

I put a flow master on my '65 Le Baron. Honestly, I think it was one of the
dumbest things I ever did to my otherwise great car. Of course, exhaust
tone is strictly subjective, but in opinionated view, it was way too much
for a luxury car. I drove it home feeling like I was driving a big 'ol
truck. Since then, I've been biding my time, waiting for the chance to
bring it back earth. Now that the engine and trans are rebuilt and in, I'll
soon put in duals (65's were single) and make it as quiet as possible, even
if it means two mufflers and two resonators.

resonators...will ask for that when having the exhaust done on the Imp this
summer.
