IML: engine failure due to carb

I guess this would be called "hydrolock". When an incompressible substance
fills up the cylinders, or a cylinder. It is usually oil (radial egnines) or
water, and it usually happens when the engine is off and you try to start it.
But with gasoline, while the engine is running, this is very unusual. I am
sure the engine must have been missing badly because several cylinders were
rich beyond the flamability limit. The engine must have been pouring clouds of
black smoke. The poor thing must have given warning, I would think.
Interesting story. I bet connecting rods may have been bent.
