Rich:
I have heard of this trick before, but I am concerned that it would not
stick to the plastic long term, especially with anytime in the sun. Have
you tried this and had it work out long term?

There is another way I found that works great for taillight
lens. Use 2000 wet sandpaper and lightly sand the lens, then use a good
clear coat spray to lightly coat the taillight lens. The lens will look
like brand new, and will last for years.

Meguire's makes a
plastic polish (I believe it is #9) that is fantastic! If you can
push hard and have a lot of stamina, you can restore a plastic part's outer
surface to brand new looking. Just follow the directions, and eat
your Wheaties that morning. Do NOT use any kind of a motorized
tool, you will burn the plastic (and please don't ask how I know
that!)

Re: IML: '66 Imperial Tail Lens
Thanks. Good advise. I have
cleaned them inside and out. Any suggestions on how to polish
them? Is there a particular method, tool, wax, coating, etc. that is
recommended? I've used lots of elbow grease, soap and water but they
are still very dull. Jon
