RE: IML: Eileen Update/25 Year Old Imperial Owner

There is nothing you can't do if you are willing to read the instructions (factory service manual), have patience, and are willing to spend the money to get the parts and tools that you need.

In my case I have done a lot of those things as many times as I ever want to. Some of them I still do, some of them I have yet to try for the first time, and some of them I will never do again. The things that I don't want to do, I find some one else to do. They are out there. Just ask. You don't have to settle for a mediocre job either. There are guys out there who can do it right.

Something that has changed my life with my Imperials (and also the other cars that I have and work on) is this IML. Another thing is the Internet. In this new era of computers and the Web, I have stumbled upon the biggest swap meet and library of knowledge that I could ever want. The folks here will give advice and tech tips until they are sure that what they have said is being heard. I have found more parts for my old cars during the last year than I found in 30 plus years of looking in old bone yards and seasonal swap meets.

I don't think that there has never been a better time to own or work on an Imperial, or any other old car, because of these things. I have been doing it since 1968. Since joining the IML, I learn something new everyday.
