To follow up, I called Outwater http://www.outwater.com/ to see if they
still carry their line of "Nu-Metal" products. These are plastic laminates
with a foil overlay. Their website no longer lists this product, but they
say that their site isn't complete and they do still supply it. I think this
is the product that most closely resembles the '68 bronze trim. I think they
also sell finished sheets of bronze and copper, etc. I recommend ordering
their 1000 page catalogue http://www2.archpro.com/cgi-bin/xwcat as it has
all their product line and relatively good sample pictures. They will send
out samples, too. These products may also find application as aluminum
panels for door kick panels and side interior door panel trim on some
models, and wood veneers for others.

Paul mentioned that I had some ideas for replacement bronze panels for the
'68 cars. Outwater Plastics sells a variety of bulk flat decorative
laminated trim items. I haven't seen a sample, so it is adviseable to
compare. Their website for the trim is at
http://www.outwater.com/catalog04/outwater/opi029.htm and
http://www.outwater.com/catalog04/outwater/opi030.htm
Of course, see Dale Anderson's bronze restoration guide link on the website,
http://www.imperialclub.com/Yr/1968/bronze/index.htm
Outwater sells a bunch of nifty stuff, like formable mdf board, edgebanding,
wood and metalicized veneers, etc., fun site to wonder around in for the
craftily minded.
