Leave it in drive or whatever forward gear you happen to be operating in, it
won't hurt it.... Now, having said that, if I am in a traffic "jam" where
there is no movement for a LONG time I'll put mine in "park". If it's a
really long time, I shut-er-down all together. Gas isn't cheap these days.
