RE: IML: Junk-yard surprise !!! sad

The only other thing I can think of not trim related is sometime in 91 the 3.8 became the standard Imperial engine while the new Yorker Fifth Avenue had the 3.3 standard, the 3.8 optional.

In short, the 90's Imperials went from 1990 to 1993 model years, and (personal opinions aside) they are essentially glorified New Yorkers.  Again, in short, the differences (off the top of my head) are:

*Unique front and rear clip
*Full rear vinyl roof
*Higher stock trim level, including automatic climate control, nicer stereos, and a Mark Cross package option for leather.
*the "Imperial" name (I think it goes without saying here how important that is =])

Can someone add to this list?

Ken,

I'll leave the definition of the FWD Imperials to someone else…

You might want to pop over to www.slantsix.org for some good slant 6 information.  Your '73 head should have been equipped with hardened valve seats.  That started with the '72 production year.
