Does it run at all when you pour fuel down the carb? You should be able to check if the pump is working if the motor turns over.

I replaced the fuel pump in my 69 LeBaron last year. It was leaking so I got even worse mileage that normal. It is not too difficult a job if you are a contortionist midget. I am not.  There is a push rod which connects the pump push arm to the cam excentric. You need to remove the Allen head screw in the block which holds in the push rod (below the pump) and make sure that the push rod is pushed in against the cam when inserting the new pump. There are two bolts attaching the pump to the block. You should probably lubricate the push rod with some type of assembly lube.

Hi All,

I was wondering if someone out there would be able to assist me in a problem that I am confronted with regarding my 1965 Chrysler Imperial Crown Coupe.  Of course it has the 413 in it and I was just wondering how often the fuel pumps go in these engines.  Reason being is that I was driving one day and about a week later the car would not start, I poured fuel down the carb, it turn over and slowly died which is all that it will do now.  Please share some experiences and/or advice.

 

Also, the power seats, windows, and low/hi beams suddenly have gone out as well all at once.  HELP!!!
