I sincerely doubt Chrysler Canada would be able to come up with anything as their historical section was disbanded/destroyed twenty-some years ago. Unfortunately, Mr. Ron Togham, former Chrysler Canada president, passed away a few years ago. The only recourse may be to find some member of his family who may remember this car. I would not put too much stock in the dealer's claim if he is unwilling to come forth with any written documentation. There are far too many people out there who "remember" various facts about cars for the sole purpose of impressing others. What I find interesting about the data tag under the hood is that the third line from the bottom does not have "U" or "C", usually the third code from the right. Also, there are no "X" or "Y" codes, which usually appear on the top row. Just forget what year they started it, but is there a sticker on the door jamb of the driver's door, or on the the driver's door itself, with the car's serial number? Check also for a small tag with a maple leaf and "Canada Transport" on it. How far back does the Motor Vehicle Department of the Province of Ontario keep its records? By the way, if you purchased this car from the original owner, it was not Mr. Togham's car. If it was Mr. Togham's car, Chrysler Canada or Mr. Togham would have been the original owner. Noting other items of interest like this Continental was interesting - but I like the Imperial focus. I need help with my 1971 Imperial LeBaron - luckily for me not too much. With information from this forum I got the info and in a incredible stroke of luck found a factory original Y pipe for the exhaust that I needed. I have had leads on the Cassette player trouble I am having and discovered that alot of us don't have functioning gas gauges. My Imperial I am trying to document further but having a little trouble. The original dealer saw me with the car and confirmed [verbally only] that he purchased it from Chrysler Canada where it was the company car of the President of Chrysler Canada - a man named Ron Todgim. The dealer won't give me a letter or any document of confirmation as he is concerned re some fanatic taking him to task on his confirmation. But he did tell me alot about the cars origin. I purchased it for CAD$10,000 from the Estate of the original owner with 18,120 miles on it. Here is a link to where I found it in a barn waiting for 30 years http://www.msnusers.com/1971ChryslerImperial/shoebox.msnw?albumlist=2 for me. I have emailed Chrysler Canada for help in documenting the history as I have been told this is a exceptional car because of the history and the fact it is all original. I am relatively new to this and so I need assistance. Thanks to Elijah who has been a big help so far. I have considered Carlisle but as it is still fresh from the barn am thinking I need to drive it more local for awhile to ensure that there are not hidden gremlins. However, as I live in Canada [near Kingston, Ontario] I am limited to MoPar meets. I intend to take it to MoparFest in New Hamburg, Ontario and at Cornwall, Ontario Gavin Gouvier is there where I hope to get more clues on authenticating this cars heritage. So that's my $0.02 worth for now. Actually when I review it looks more like I did a $1.98 LOL Regards Peter Thielman Napanee, ONtario Canada. Blab-away for as little as 1¢/min.
