Many of us Imperial nuts have some history with Packards - myself included. The dedication to quality of fit and finish, and the luxury that was bred into the Packard engineering and manufacturing process carried over into the Imperial crew at Chrysler - as many of the folks who left Packard during its painful downfall in the 50s wound up at Chrysler, and since they were familiar with the luxury car market, were put to work on the higher priced cars. Dick Teague is the most notable of those, but there were many others from the Packard ranks involved in the design of our favorite cars.
