Sorry Arran,

Didn't mean to seem like an arrogant know it all. What I meant was that the designs at that site seem like they may be computerized alterations of existing pictures (good ones) rather than full on computer renderings. I agree that most people, myself included, do not find the new Imperial attractive, however, I believe that it is more "out there" and likely to cause a reaction good or bad from the public. I think DCX is looking for a strong reaction. Remember, the big rig look pickups were loved or hated when first shown. They would rather have a design that stikes a few as a "must have" than most as a "that's nice." I would argue that the concept Imperial was a failed attempt along those lines.

I am well aware that it is a computer generated rendering but I don't see
the relevance as to why there are no front or rear views as one could render
those just as easily, there may be some pending that haven't been posted as
yet. As I said before the general opinion that I heard expressed locally
about the recent concept Imperial was that it was ugly and that the
Challenger was quite attractive; this was an opinion expressed by members of
the lay public not Imperial enthusiests by the way.

There aren't any frontal or rear shots because it's not a "car," it's a
computer drawing. I can appreciate the work that went into it.....but, I
don't like it. I think the rear overhang looks ridiculous. The cab forward
thing with the wheels pushed out the edges has a purpose, long wheelbase
helps ride, and for whatever size car you have you will have a nicer ride.
The only trade-off is a worse turning circle. In the US that isn't a
problem. Most of the list is responding "that's an Imperial!" but when I
look at it all I can see is a 1990's era Buick Roadmaster. A car I did not
particularly care for and more importantly to DCX, sold poorly to a VERY old
average buyer. Not something car makers strive for. Finally, it seems
counterproductive to have pronounced wheel arches to accentuate the wheels
and then stick skirts on to hide them. The contradicting cues look silly to
me. I think the designer started with a 300 and stretched and molded it.
You may not like the new Imperial concept, I'm no fan of that either, but it
caused a little stir. At a show this car wouldn't draw a second glance
except for its (probably) huge size.
