RE: Re: IML: Cooling Issues Part two

The shop manual for my 2004 Dodge Cummins Diesel recommends distilled water
with the anti-freeze mix. After thinking about it, it makes perfect sense.
The impurities in regular tap water are what causes the rust to form in the
cooling system.

Jay,
Has this only startd to happen AFTER the engine work? If
after removing it from the engine compartment, the fan clutch was
placed the wrong way down it can cause it to leaking fluid.
I used to live in LV and I very well know how hot it can get
there. I have an ex who used to recommend ONLY distilled water
and anti-freeze be put into any of his cars because of the
hardness of the water. I still do that today, the water here in
Tucson is very hard and can cause deposits to built up VERY
rapidly.
