If it is true that GM will acquire Chrysler, I can't see any harm in it. The industry is so homogenized that it's hard to know who is enjoying the shadow of whom, besides, a bunch of Chrysler's designers are working at GM anyway. I would much rather have this proud marque remain under US ownership than under foreign control.
On another front, at either camp (Daimler or GM) the Imperial name is out of luck since it is competing with already established halo cars. And on a humorous aside, think of the bumper stickers - "I'd rather push my Hemi GTO than drive a Ford"
