Chris, if it were me, the 1406 would be my choice, or the 1806, both have electric chokes that work much better than the stock bi->metal choke well it came with. The 1806 is the AVS type, which is much easier to fine tune the secondary opening. Since both carbs a>re modeled after the competition series AFB, and the AVS, the choke linkage(manual) could be a problem, getting it right.I think >the choke well changed between 67 to 70-71 which used the AVS.Kinda fuzzy, but thats what I seem to recall.Ya'll have a nice >day, Dave.


I agree with Dave. I put the 750cfm version on my '59 (413) and was so unhappy with it that I pulled it back off and sold it on e-bay. The 600 worked much better for me.
