Hi Charles,
If you have the Carter Thermoquad carb, chances are your floats are probably 
saturated with gas and are "heavy" causing the fuel to keep flowing even 
though the needle and seat are closed. You didn't mention where you are 
located but we rebuild these quite often with excellent results.
